The Senior Director Total Rewards Americas will drive the Americas compensation & benefits strategy including the design, implementation, communication and administration of the compensation & benefit and global mobility programs, aligned with the business objectives. This role will work for Americas leadership team, HR Business teams, labor relations & executives. He/She will serve as the internal expert on the design, implementation & operational aspects of these programs.

 

The Sr. Director Total Rewards Americas  will analyze Goodyear’s Comp/Ben (Americas) programs on an on-going basis (including compensation programs at all levels) relative to market position, internal equity, and compliance & compensation philosophy and will  prepare analyses, materials & recommendations to Senior Leadership.

 

He/She will provide expertise, counsel & advice on global mobility program strategic design & process implementation ensuring designs are globally aligned with corporate business objectives & Comp/Ben philosophy & market practice, where it makes sense.

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop compensation & benefits plans (Americas) & global mobility programs & policies which influence individuals' actions in the direction intended by business plans.
  • Assist in the design of non-executive incentive compensation & benefit plans to insure competitive levels both internally & externally.
  • Develop supportive communication programs & ensure that management acquires a thorough understanding of sound compensation, benefit & global mobility practices.
  • Provides exceptional customer service with solution-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborate with HR on various compensation topics, including preparation of individual associate benefits.
  • Establishes & maintains a systems of control reports that will enable top executive management & other appropriate management levels to evaluate the effectiveness of key compensation, benefit and global mobility plans and practices.
  • Lead, develop, and coach the benefits team to design, deliver and sustain global solutions.
  • Counsel HR Business leaders, managers & employees regarding compensation & benefits.
  • Consults with outside actuary on health care plan administration/programs and vendors.
  • Manage the Americas compensation and benefit teams and the day-to-day planning/implementation of administrative processes, team development, and succession planning.

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelors degree is required
    • Preferred: Masters Degree
  • 10 or more years of experience in Compensation & Benefits (working in a large organization).
  • Broad business / functional experience working in multiple businesses/functions/roles, both with direct & indirect authority.
  • Breadth of roles include setting global strategy and driving operational execution/results; including experience with union negotiations and building business cases.
  • Strong experience with benchmarking benefit policies/practices.
  • Strong external network to gather and exchange ideas/information and act as a sounding board for new and/or innovative ideas.

  • Ability to develop materials and present ideas/recommendations at all levels within the organization to gain approval of programs/process changes.
