About the Position 
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing in developing and optimizing innovative tire cavity and tread pattern geometries. This role involves utilizing established Goodyear tools, processes, and systems in a team environment to create high-quality tire products that meet customer requirements and align with Goodyear’s standards. The position also includes mentoring and assisting with the training of lower-level Tread & Cavity associates.
Location: Americana Plant, São Paulo, Brazil
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop innovative new tire products using geometric and computational tools as part of a cross-functional team.
• Document and communicate development activities via reports and presentations.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments (DOE) in support of cavity geometry development.
• Create final molded tire specifications for manufacturing tire molds.
• Support the evaluation of products, processes, and methods to obtain results.
• Contribute to the manufacture of quality products and processes.
• Work in an environment to bring relevant products and technology to market.
• Obtain required training and skill development for position-specific skills and personal development.
• Maintain existing and develop new global processes and standards.
• Mentor and assist with the training of lower-level Tread & Cavity associates.

Required Education and Experience 

• Mechanical Engineering degree (or relevant field), required.
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Catia V5 or similar CAD tool.
• 3+ years of tire-specific technical experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical projects.
• Understanding of the Goodyear Product Creation Process (PCP) is preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Power Point, Excel).
• Fluent in English, required; Portuguese and Spanish preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong ability to identify and solve problems using a logical and scientific approach.
• Basic comprehension of statistical design and analysis, including cause and effect analysis and risk analysis.
• Ability to carry out assignments logically using existing technology and standardized methods.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive projects to completion.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects.
