Skidtrailer Instrumentation & Calibration Technician
Location: Must be located within a commutable distance of Luxembourg.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Instrumentation:
- Develop, purchase, install and/or validate measurement, mechanical, electrical & hydraulic equipment on/for our Skidtrailers.
- Supervise custom software for data acquisition & machinery for our Skidtrailers performed by Technology support team.
- Manage maintenance & ensure preventive upgrades on all Skidtrailers except van maintenance.
- Maintain and repair Skidtrailer equipment by using our in-house electrical workshop or by subtracting to our listed suppliers.
- Comply with all safety requirements and instructions and proactively raise all potential safety issues.
- Respect quality system & contribute to create/update department procedures & work instructions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, process and procedure development and PPI internal projects.
- Support road tire testing department in driving strong safety culture, reaching high quality standards, and building a strong team spirit.
- Consistently document technical information for adequate sharing of knowledge.
Calibration technician:
- Manage calibration of Skid trailer instrumentation in order to comply to legal test and ISO 17025.
- Enter calibration data into calibration software and validate/send for approval calibration steps.
- Send measurement equipment for calibration according to monthly due list.
- Issue non-conformity reports as applicable.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Skidtrailer equipment calibration plan together with calibration team.
- Write work instructions/user manuals for Skidtrailer measuring & test equipment.
- Read user manual from our equipment and transfer important information to a Goodyear standard protocol for Skidtrailer usage.
- Manage housekeeping of test equipment and workshop.
- Handling of test equipment and test items in a manner that protects them against loss and damage.
- Contribute, comply with and follow-up of all Quality System requirements.
- Contribute to a safe working environment, comply with all safety requirements and instructions.
- Contribute to Continual improvement process (OFI), CIS activities.
- Contribute and comply with all EHS activities.
To join our team, you will need:
Education & Certifications:
- Required: Bac +3 / BTS or Bachelor in electromechanics.
- Desirable: Engineering Degree.
Experience:
- At least 5 years in industries, experience in automotive industry / or automotive testing industry as an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Technical background (5 years of experience in Road Tire Testing, automotive instrumentation or similar as a minimum),
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and tire construction as an asset.
- Fluent in English & French, German is an asset.
- Administrative know-how, documentation writing, MS Office knowledge.
- Good communication, listening, and analyzing skills. Apply stop – think – act mindset.
- Strong team player, high flexibility, able to adapt to any testing environment (multiple testing locations) and weather conditions (extreme cold or hot temperatures).
- Ethical values: Honest and full transparency, provide info on valid driver’s license or loss.
