About the Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting Global Quality Organization and is critical to deliver on the vision of being the preferred choice of our customers and consumers through industry leading quality, performance, and services. You will be responsible for developing and implementing Quality Systems and Standards for Tire Intelligence Systems and Products. The incumbent will lead the application of innovative technical solutions to meet product and process requirements.

  • Acknowledged globally as a content expert, teaching others; while developing new approaches to improve processes and solve problems.
  • Utilize and apply understanding of Customer Requirements both internal and external relevant to multiple process areas.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Supplier and Customers to drive improvements in Quality and Customer Satisfaction. 
  • Support the creation and implementation of Tire Intelligence products and services as the voice of Quality and the Customer within the New Products Industrialization Process.
  • Support and Engage in Process Auditing, while developing and documenting quality systems to ensure compliant and robust Quality Management Systems Globally.
  • Accountable to ensure compliance to applicable technical and regulatory requirements across the Global Manufacturing footprint relevant to Tire Intelligence projects.
  • Technical resource for resolving complex problems requiring the use of higher-level tools while demonstrating expertise to anticipate problems and develop solutions with appropriate tools and methods that deliver on defined objectives to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate and network with multiple teams across the enterprise to meet individual and business performance objectives.
  • Travel up to 20% (domestic and international) to support global project needs.

  • Be a knowledge resource and leader of collaboration. Create an environment and culture of collaboration. 
  • Be a recognized leader in completing activities and steps of projects utilizing project management tools. Ensure required steps are taken and all parties included. Lead project teams in developing plans.
  • Ensure the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Process Standards and Quality Control Documents
  • Manage SQ procedures /processes for ISO / IATF Self Certification approvals/VDA/Customer specific Sub-Supplier requirements
  • Support Global Material Science and Procurement on material related and supplier compliance meeting reviews and provide advisory support as subject matter expert to the Raw Material Supplier Qualification Team.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Technology/Engineering/Math. Due to legal requirements Latin America candidates must possess Engineering 
  • Experience or certifications in the application of Quality control systems, problem solving, and project management tools
  • 7 or more years of experience Automotive Engineering Quality, Tire Intelligence, or Electronics Manufacturing Quality
  • Demonstrated competency of systematic problem-solving tools and to address complex equipment and process problems
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and apply new tools and techniques to improve existing processes
  • Cross-functional project leadership/management experience, PMP preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply Regulatory Safety and Quality Standards 
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably with a focus on both hardware and software quality assurance.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in implementing Quality Systems for Software and Hardware
  • Experience in Automotive ADAS, ASPICE, highly desired
  • Instill positive attitudes on peers. Provide positive constructive feedback. Plan and lead meetings. Give clear and concise technical guidance. Offer constructive disagreement and the ability to manage/deflect/diffuse conflict. Lead in finding alternative solutions.
